| Using Alternating Relays with DC Input Voltages | ||||||
| Issue | ||||||
| Do your Alternating Relays work on dc voltages? Your catalog only mentions ac. | ||||||
| Solution/Resolution | ||||||
|
In our current catalog, we list only ac input voltages for all the ARP
Series Alternating Relays. This was done because the normal application of
an alternating relay is in ac pump control or HVAC compressor
control.
However, in those special applications where someone would like to use our alternating relays on dc voltages, the standard catalog-listed products will work just fine. The only thing to watch is the polarity of the connection. If you look at the wiring diagrams for alternating relays, you will notice that the control switch is connected between L1 and another terminal. If you are using dc input voltage, the control switch must be connected to the "+" wire of the dc power supply.
