Time Delay Relays

I have noticed that most time delay relays with functions such as Repeat Cycle, Delayed Interval & ON/OFF Delay have as standard the same range available for both ON & OFF times. I need a 5 second ON time and a 30 minute OFF time, but no available one range covers both times. What can I do?

Issue: What is the difference between On Delay, Off Delay, Single Shot, Interval On and all these other time delay functions?

Issue: I have been told not to use solid state input devices such as proximity or photoelectric switches with solid state time delay relays. Why not and what can I do?

Issue: When I apply 120V to the input terminals of a time delay relay, why don’t I get 120V out of the output contacts to control my load? 

Issue: What does "repeat accuracy" mean in the Application Data section of your time delay relays?Solution: Repeat accuracy is the percent variance of time within consecutive timing cycles once a time delay relay is set to the required time delay.

Issue: I am using a time delay relay with a triggered function. My trigger switch will be closed before I apply voltage to the time delay relay. Will this work? 

Depending on the function selected, not every time delay is possible with this unit.  For example, time delays of 12.55 Seconds or 145.5 Minutes are not valid settings for Single Mode functions. 

This simple solution can be done with one Interval ON (TD1) & two Single Shot (TD2 & TD3) time delay relays.

Issue: The output relay appears to be already energized on my True Off Delay timer without any input voltage applied.  It was that way when I received it or I found it in that state during installation.  What happened and how do I fix it?

Issue: On a time delay relay with a range of 0.3-30 seconds, how come I get less than a 0.3 second setting at the “MIN” setting and/or more than a 30 second delay at “MAX”?
