Maximum Voltage Ratings of Phase Monitor Relays

Posted: 4/14/14 | Three-Phase Monitor Relays

Issue:

What is the maximum voltage that your phase monitors can handle? What about the units that offer overvoltage protection?

Solution/Resolution:

Use the table below to determine the maximum continuous voltage rating of all Macromatic Three-Phase Monitor Relays. Voltages in excess of these values could cause damage or improper operation:

  Catalog Number Maximum Voltage

Introduced April 2014
PAP208, PAP240, PAP400 & PAP480 550V
PCPU 550V
PLPU 550V
PMP120 152V
PMP575 660V
PMPU & FMPU-FA8 550V
Existing PMD120 144V
PMD600 630V
PMDU 576V
Obsolete (pre-April 2014) PAP, PCP & PLP 110% of the line-line voltage rating of the product
PMPU 525V
PMP120 144V

The PMP & PMD Series three-phase monitor relays offer overvoltage protection at 110% of line-line voltage. When the system voltage exceeds 110% of the line-line voltage setting of the product, the unit will trip. However, per the table above, both products have sufficient room above the 110% overvoltage trip setting to allow limited operation beyond the trip point.
